HELP! I want to book the TT for my partner
Top 5 things to consider when booking the Isle of Man TT for a present
1. What is the TT? How does it work?
Simply, the TT is split into a two-week festival. The first week is practice week which has evening practice sessions from 6pm to 9pm. Race week is the second week of the festival and is the most popular of the two weeks, races take place on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Races take place on the Isle of Man TT Course which is closed public roads, the track is 38 miles long and starts/finishes in Douglas.
2. Where is the Isle of Man and How do I get there?
The Isle of Man is located in the Irish Sea in between England, Ireland and just under Scotland.
You can get to the Isle of Man by sea or by air, the most popular option is by sea and this sells out fast. Flying is a good option, you can easily get around the island using public transport, you do not need your own vehicle.
Foot passengers by sea are roughly £100 per person return while a flight can be anything from £150 per person return - upwards.
3. Where can I stay?
We have accommodation options from Camping to 4-star hotels, these are located all over the island. Glamping is very popular due to its cost and locations, Hotels can be really expensive for most budgets. Camping with your own tent is the cheapest TT accommodation option.
If you are travelling without your own transport then stay in Douglas, its central to everything you will need.
4. How can I watch the race?
You only pay to watch the racing if you want to sit in a grandstand, tickets cost anything from £25 up to £60 per person per race day. As the track is 38 miles long you can watch from FREE in most areas.
