Pennybridge TT campsite is located at the exit of Kirk Michael on a fast sweeping bend past the petrol station and just after the riders have raced through the quaint village.
You can really roll out of bed and into the hedge here, the campsite is trackside, the only thing in the way is a wooden fence. You are really that close to the action and the site itself is a gem that many repeat guests would like to keep a secret.
The Isle of Man TT Campsite is on a family run business that is a stable throughout the year, but at the TT opens up as a campsite.
At the end of the 2015 summer season, we went to see the upgrades made on site throughout the year and we found some of the best campsite facilitates on the island, it's a shame the campsite isn't open year round.
Brand new installed toilets, shower and washing facilities come aplenty, a lot of care and attention has been given to them and they are some of the best on the island. With the horses vacated due to the races, the large barn turns into a place to hang out and it's also a refuge if you want to have your bike undercover while staying at the TT.
Fear not if you are travelling without a vehicle the site is on the main bus route from Peel to Ramsey. Access to Douglas is available via Peel, the site is very accessible.
The Mitre Pub in Kirk Michael is a 5 to 10-minute walk from the site and offers drinks and meals. You will also find a small shop. Peel is around 15-20 minutes away by bus and you will find bars, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket here.
Another secret that the site offers is the old railways line from St Johns to Ramsey, it's located 2 minutes walk from the site. From here you can easily move to different viewing points along the course.
Pennybridge Isle of Man TT campsite offers places to pitch your own tent from £14 per person per night or pre-pitched tents from £30 per person per night (minimum 5 nights).
You can book your place at Pennybridge campsite with Regency Travel the Isle of Man TT specialists and official Isle of Man TT travel partner. Camping with your own tent or pre-pitched tents available here.
One thing you can be assured of when staying at Pennybridge is a warm Manx welcome.

J Gleeson "Mine and my son's first visit to the TT, we were made very welcome by Carolyn and Alan at penny bridge tt campsite, the shower blocks were new and cleaned daily - spotless! They had an on-site catering van, providing a nice and tasty selection of food, which was cooked by Richard. You can either watch the action from the campsite grandstand or on the grass banks next to the course for close up action. we will definitely be going back next year and thanks again to Carolyn and Alan for your wonderful hospitality"
E Misky "It was my first time at the TT and didn't know what to expect, the Pennybridge site didn't disappoint. Clean and comfortable bathrooms and showers and lots of space to set up your tent and spread out. Fantastic view of the race from the hedge right out from."
S Jenions "This campsite has all. Fantastic roadside views of the races or optional stand. Just a stones throw from the tent and great hot food and drinks. The bus stop is right on the doorstep and pub in the village a short walk away.
Alan & Carolyn were fantastic, friendly hosts and Richard's food was amazing.
The tents were very well equipped and the shower/toilet block was spotlessly cleaned at least twice a day and the showers were always hot.
The meals served to campers and day visitors were delicious and catered to a variety of tastes.
The campers were also given the use of the riding school clubroom to watch cable TV race coverage in the evenings.
The old railway walk at the back of the campsite leads to other villages and the nearby beach, making it ideal for peaceful friendly walks.
This was a once in a lifetime trip for us (from NZ) and we think we couldn't have picked a better mountain course campsite. It definitely ticked all our boxes and more we hadn't even considered.
Thank you, Carolyn, Alan & Richard for giving us fantastic memories of your beautiful island."
