With a number of the leading TT stars competing in the Ulster Grand Prix, Classic Racing specialists including Chris Palmer, Olie Linsdell, Alan Oversby and Roy Richardson were hoping to take advantage of the opportunity to get some early track time on the TT Mountain Course in the first practice session at the 2013 Classic TT presented by Bennetts.
However, rain and mist on the Isle of Man and a shortage of marshals originally saw the session delayed and then ultimately cancelled without a bike getting onto the track.
Monday's session will see some of the leading TT riders joining the fray with in-form contenders including Guy Martin - with his three race wins in the Ulster Grand Prix, Davies Motorsport Honda rider William Dunlop, who took victory in the Ulster Grand Prix Supersport Race and McIntosh Racing/Mobile 1 Bruce Anstey who continued his incredible run of achieving podiums in every International meeting since 2002, all due to go out on Monday.
Other leading riders scheduled for their first start in the meeting include MD Racing/Team Classic Suzuki rider Michael Dunlop who will be campaigning on a Manx Norton and Suzuki XR69, fellow Team Classic Suzuki rider Conor Cummins who will also be competing for Dunnell Racing in the 350 and 500cc classes, Cameron Donald, representing Ripley Land Racing on AJS and Matchless machines Gary Johnson and James Hillier.
Twenty-time TT race winner John McGuinness, fresh from competing in Oschersleben in the Endurance World Championship race, is also expected to make his first appearance in the meeting on the Team Winfield Paton.
Monday's session is due to get underway at 6pm with the Classic TT newcomers among the first riders on the track. The full Classic session is scheduled to start at 19.25.
